Virtual e-supermarket launched on Warsaw metro

virtuel e-marketA virtual supermarket has been launched on the Warsaw underground allowing customers to order deliveries by mobile phone.

The first e-supermarket on the capital’s metro system was installed at the Warszawa Centrum station, where passengers can scan barcodes of products on virtual shelves. Applications are downloaded onto smartphones from the Frisco.pl website.

“We want to show customers that in this day and age, you don’t need to make a special trip to the supermarket for day-to-day purchases,” said CEO of Frisco.pl Grzegorz Bielecki. “With the help of a mobile application from Frisco, you can order the necessary products from practically any place and at any time of day, even while waiting to catch a train on the underground,” he said.

As each product is scanned, it enters the customer’s virtual shopping basket. Once the entire transaction has been confirmed, the products will be delivered at a specified time, at the address provided by the customer.

Besides cosmetic and sanitary items, customers can order a wide variety of food, including dairy products.
