Estonia still attractive travel destination for Russian tourists

estonia touristsAlthough the demand for foreign trips during May holidays has declined by 20-30 percent, Estonia is still an attractive destination country.

According to a spokesperson for the Russian Union of Tourism Industry, Irina Tyurina, the demand for foreign trips for upcoming May holidays has dropped due to weaker ruble and foreign policy factors. She added that due to lower demand for sightseeing trips to Europe operators do not order additional flights for holidays like they used to.

According to Tyurina demand for trips to the Baltic region has declined the most and especially to Latvia and Lithuania, while demand for trips to Estonia is still rather good.

She added that the general negative trend hasn’t affected trips to resorts — demand for Czech and Hungarian resorts is still high.
