Water, gas, electricity bills and other costs for maintaining the home take up one-fifth of Poles income, the third highest in the EU.
Data from the EU’s eurostat statistical data service found that Poles spend 19.6 percent of their income on energy costs and other bills. Out of 32 countries surveyed, only Germans (22.2 percent) and Slovaks (21.7 percent) spend a higher proportion of their income on water, gas and electricity.
The people that spends the lowest part of their income on such bills is are the Maltese (8.4 percent).
