Estonian highway transport among the most polluting in Europe

car pollutionThe European Commission’s first ever results list of the transport sphere of the member states indicates that Estonia’s strength lies in the increasing  market share of the railway transport while the high environmental impact of the highway transport is the weakness, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

Estonia is on the 15th position among 28 states while Estonia is among the best in four and the worst in five spheres. Lithuanian is 17th and Latvia 25th.

Holland and Germany are in the top of the list, as they have good results in 11 spheres. They are followed by Sweden, UKL, Denmark and Finland
