The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Linas Linkevičius, and the US Secretary of State John Kerry today signed a joint plan on efforts against unlawful trade in nuclear and radioactive materials.
The Agreement envisages actions of Lithuanian institutions to increase the country’s capacities in nuclear safety and it stipulates an important role to the Lithuanian Nuclear Security Centre of Excellence.
“Last week, we were all shocked by the events Boston. These horrific attacks reminded us once again that terror goes beyond borders and we must all pool our efforts to prevent terrorist attacks,” Linkevičius said in the press release.
