One of Finlands biggest companies,Valio has recalled a bean-seed mixture originating from the Belgian supplier linked to the datura-laced frozen vegetables sold by SOK supermarkets.
The new bean-seed mixture from Valio has shown no traces of the toxic plant. It was sold to roughly 400 institutional kitchens and has been taken back as a precaution.
The Finnish Food Safety Authority Evira has warned consumers not to use the frozen vegetable product - Rainbow Ruokaisat pannuvihanneksetf that was found to be laced with seeds from the highly toxic datura plant. So far, at least nine people have suffered from datura poisoning.
