Like minded Baltic Cultures

rein lang“The Baltic Sea cooperation is not only necessary but unavoidable if we want to preserve our centuries-old lifestyle and value system.” Writes the Estonian Minister of Culture, Rein Lang, in the latest issue of Rim Economies. Culture and life-stile are shared in the Baltic Sea Region and deserve cooperation also with St. Petersburg.

It would be useful for us if at least some of our ideas and values were shared in the St. Petersburg region of Russia, and often that is the case,” writes Rein Lang.

“During peaceful times our quality of life has, despite the harsh climate, been high and it continues to be so. The effort to maintain it seems in every sense reasonable and necessary. This is a good reason to continue to look for opportunities to enhance cooperation in all areas.”
