An international human rights organisation says Sweden is still one of the world’s least corrupt countries - but that Swedes are now less naive about what their politicians and business leaders get up to.
The Council of Europe says in a new report that Sweden should bring in a code of conduct for members of parliament. The Council’s reports expresses concern that there are no rules on what jobs a politician can get after leaving the Riksdag, and that there needs to be clearer rules on how to avoid a conflict of interest.
A working group in Sweden will now look at a possible code of conduct for politicians.
